Inspired by the original designer tie concept dating back to 1920, Patrick’s ties are self-expression through dress. Patrick works collaboratively with Australian and international textile designers on concepts that challenge conservatism within the traditional formalwear framework. Patrick’s philosophy is simple: “do what you do best and success will follow.” He spent many years in the United Kingdom researching and working in fashion. In 2006 he launched an online shop selling his own designed and finely handcrafted men’s accessories. Now his designer ties and cufflinks are stocked in boutiques in America, England and Australia and worn by men and women alike.
Patrick’s tie silks are woven by the most respected mills in the world and his ties are made to exacting specifications exclusive to the brand. Patrick chooses only grade one silks woven to the finest possible weave of 350 warp ends per inch. The silks are coloured with acid based dyes so there is nothing to distort true colours. The ties feature wool or wool blend interlining. All ties are handmade or hand-finished and engineered with a slip thread, which runs the length of the tie, ensuring many years perfect knotting.
The result is an exceptional range of luxury handmade silk ties. Each piece is a collectable and inspired by timeless influences such as the Art Deco movement. Patrick McMurray customers include government dignitaries, corporate executives, television personalities and luxury fashion boutiques across the world.
